Shirlee is the Project Director for the New England Pathogen Genomics Center of Excellence in the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Her work focuses on integrating pathogen sequencing data with epidemiological information to track the spread of infectious diseases, and on building pathogen genomics capacity in public health settings both domestically and internationally. Shirlee received her PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
